World Wood Web is speculative fiction by director Ida Gedbjerg, set in the year 2713: the internet has been taken over by a vast organic network, and Gregorious Dubois, a man who became a tree, discovers it on a cold December day. The premise sits somewhere between science fiction and fable, and the cinematography answers in kind, looking for the strangeness inside ordinary woodland: bark as infrastructure, undergrowth as wiring, light falling through branches like signal through a network. An early experimental collaboration photographed by Victor Maes.

World Wood Web: tiny red-jacketed figure on a dark path below a wall of bare birch trees
World Wood Web: figure in red stands on dry reeds, low hills fading into a pale hazy winter sky
World Wood Web: forested slag heap rising over a bare field crossed by winding tracks, pale blue sky
World Wood Web: pale face lit in darkness, eyes open, tangled among bare branches and twigs at night
