Les Homards Immortels is a fiction short by director Kate Voet, starring Jan Bijvoet and Jill Verhaeghe as two minds who meet again after a brief separation and rediscover each other while uncovering their reasons to leave and to return. It is a film about being alone in the middle of a search for connection, and the cinematography keeps that solitude present even when the two characters share the frame: composed, patient images that hold the distance between people as carefully as the closeness. Photographed by Victor Maes; the short went on to a wide festival run, picked up in the laurels below.
